The mountains and the coast

In our region you will find some of the best hikes in Italy and blue-flag beaches which stretch along the whole length of Le Marche. Villa in the Vineyard is nestled into the rolling hills and so you are perfectly positioned to enjoy both mountains and sea.

Sibillini National Park

Here you'll find some of the best hikes in Italy in breath-taking landscapes without crowds of people.   Just a 40 minute drive from Villa in the Vineyard, you'll reach the Sibillini Mountains National Park, with its stunning mountain range, waterfalls, rivers and lakes. This is the perfect place for walking, hiking, mountain biking or wild swimming in the lakes.

We can recommend an English-speaking guide, Rodolfo Nasini of Woodpecker Hiking, who offers a range of guided walks for small groups and families of all abilities.  We will provide full details in your welcome pack. Do remember to pack a strong pair of walking boots and walking trousers but we can lend you walking sticks, rucksacks, guides and maps.

Read more about the Sibillini and the walks on offer in our blog.

Walking

For something more gentle, take a walk around the gardens and vineyards of this 19 acre property or explore the medieval hill-top villages all round us, or how about a walk along a deserted beach off-season.

Star gazing

All our guests are amazed by the clear skies we have here due to the lack of light pollution.  As we have 360 degree views from the Villa, you could stay up late one night and see how many constellations you can spot.

Road and mountain biking

Cycling with road bikes is very popular in this area as there is little traffic on the roads and there are many routes you can take from the villa. There are bike hire companies along the coast for an easy cycle along designated cycle ways.  Marche Tourism has a guidebook and new app with cycle routes around Le Marche with different distances and levels. There are also many places that rent out e-books - a great help on the hills!

Adriatic Coast

The golden beaches of the Adriatic with its blue flags are about 30-40 mins away. The sandy beaches are very shallow for quite a long way out, which makes them perfect for little ones. There are public beaches but for a small price you can hire umbrellas for some shade and sun loungers with access to their changing cubicles, showers and toilets. Our favourite is Cupra Marittima with its long beach and promenade, children's rides, Tai Chi, Yoga and Pilates on the beach, a fitness area and a windsurf school.  A visit to Conero is a must with its stunning natural coastline and clear waters. Perfect place to swim, snorkel, stand-up paddle board, sail and windsurf.
